SANDY COVE BEACH
Elliston contains one of Newfoundland's most beautiful sandy beaches. This beach boasts a freshwater brook with bridge, a refreshment stand and nearby camping facilities. The town of Sandy Cove remains a quiet, serene setting with a breathtaking sandy beach, numerous hiking trails, a municipal park that encompasses Sandy Cove Pond and renown for its Trout and Crooked Trees. The perfect vacation destination and/or retirement village. Sandy Cove beach is one of the most magnificent natural sand beaches in Newfoundland. Home of an annual festival the last weekend of each July, this beach is also an excellent camping area.
ELLISTON MUNICIPAL PARK
Elliston Municipal Park is in a beautiful setting is just across the from Sandy Cove Beach. The park offers serviced and unserviced lots. It is also a great place to pitch a tent for the night. Bird Island Inn B&B is an excellent sport to take a break from "ruffing it" and a chance to clean up. The park is also the site of the Bird Island Puffin Festival held during the third week of July each year..
Situated in Sandy Cove, opposite Sandy Cove Beach, the Municipal Park offers a great overnight stay. The campground has 16 service lots, a tenting area, and picnic sites. The Municipal Park’s infrastructure makes it the ideal location for both the Bird Island Puffin Festival and the Roots, Rants, & Roars Festival.
